Gdy was just on our national FM station doing a late night quiz... Knockout format. "Who is the only person in history to have won a Golden Grand Slam?" 4 people fail, but I calmly step in with Steffi Graf... Who could forget those pins! Then the next question bid me adieu... I'm so ashamed... Who is hosting the 2012 Olympics? "NFI"... Sorry Londoners...

Hokay to the Honeycutter:

Dude, I love to watch the "Tellie" (sp?) during all the Grand Slams and
now I'm doing the fortnight "thing" with the Wimbledon Championships.

My guess for the Golden Grand Slam is one of your fellow countrymen,
at least I'm pretty sure the Rocket was Australian. So I'm picking my all
time favorite player, . . . The Rocket, Rod Laver. What a great player, back
in the old "woodie racket " days and more importantly, what a great
sportsman and a gentleman on and off the court. To interject an
American icon, I would put Andrea Agassi in the same boat as far as
being a credit to the sport and a real gentleman, . . .husband to Steffi
Graff, BTW. . . .but you know that aready.

Gday J-bird
I was a lil unc' Lear...
Steffi Graf was the answer, which I got right, but then bombed on the N Shooing Q...
Telly = 1, tellies = many
Yep Rocket Rod, although before my time, is remembered as you have stated... Aggers, once shedding that 80's nightmare (the hair, not Brooke Shields) has moved that Mr. Sheen nut of his around the court like a true gentleman... Are there going to be anyone but robots on centrecourt in future?
Cheers Arbee

Hey Brad:

Oh my I wasn't right with my guess. . . oh my, oh well. Story of ma' life.
But Steffi was some talent and determination. What a forehand. Wow.

I believe she won the singles Wimbledon Championship 7 times, the
same number of times as Pete Sampras.

Thanks for supplying the correct answer.
