If you're just tuning in everyone, a bit earlier I posted on the regular AFV forum about my negative experience with MMIR I had many years ago and that I will not subscribe to it or buy it, seeing that I haven't seen any improvements to his customer service. (Well, I have to say Mr. Stansell, your "stellar" reply to my message didn't exactly improve your image to me and I suspect to others.) Anyway, Mr. Stansell posted a reply that attacks me by calling me a liar and says I made up my story.
I will say it right now, my experience was true and WAS NOT A LIE or FABRICATED. Seriously, why would I make this story up? What would I have to gain by slamming Mr. Stansell with a "fake story" taking place 8-10 years ago, especially one fairly innocuous when compared to the other junk we've all seen surfing the Net?
Why would I risk my own reputation to tell a lie coming completely out of the blue unless the story were true?? Besides my negative experience with him years ago (which in the true scheme of life is pretty minimal) I have no "grudge" with Mr. Stansell, I am not in competition with him, he doesn't owe me any money, I don't owe him any money, etc.? Why then would I make up a fake story such as the one I recounted in my original post?
Check out my posts on Armorama (My Armorama posts are mostly under the "Patrix1" user name or my very new one: Warwheels), Missing Lynx, Hyperscale, etc and take a look at my posts. Just search ML and HS under "Patrick Keenan". After doing that, you'll find I rarely post anything remotely negative about anyone, "trolling" or lieing, like Mr. Stansell insinuates I did in his reply.

With that all being said, it truly amazes me that Mr. Stansell expects you all to believe that I am a liar just because he can actually "remembers" every contact he had with his customers (or ex-customers) over the past 10 years or so and he can say it's 100% sure that he did not tell me to "take it or leave it" or "tough". After all, he even said he had gotten 300 more subscribers this year. As a business man, he must deal with 1000's of people and he remembers one phone call 10 years ago? I can tell you one thing though, as a consumer I sure as hell can remember one negative call ten years ago, and Mr. Stansells was one of those.

It's funny, it's been 10 years or so since I first (and last) communicated with him (re: my negative experience) and he still shows me he knows nothing about good customer service. He attacks an ex-customer in front of a bunch of customers (or potential customers) without really checking into this situation first. He reacts first without thinking.. This is exactly what happened in our conversation 10 years ago. He didn't like my criticism of his chronic lateness of sending out MMIR and then told me to take it (MMIR) or leave it. Wow, this is sure a familiar scenario.
In response to my initial message, A business man with good customer service skills would have politely inquired about the incident directly with me, apologized or even said something to the effect that he did not remember the incident and he regrets I perceived our contact as negative experience. Instead, he attacks me and calls me a liar.
Geez, by your actions Mr. Stansell, you're personally confirming my initial post about your bad customer service habits aren't you???
If I were you Mr. Stansell, just get out MMIR on time, send out the mags to the subscribers early and stop calling anyone a liar who criticizes you for not doing these things. You wouldn't have any worries then.

When you have no answer the next best thing is to attack the messenger. MMiR was a great publication plagued with delivery problems to the max. The whole Tiger I mess demonstrates that Stansell & Company bit off WAY more than they could chew. Too bad.
I got fed up waiting for the next issue to MMiR and gone on to other publication that publish ON TIME!!!

I have no beef with Pat, he puts together and publishes some fantastic material in MMIR, AA, and the modeling guides. Now having said that and having read his reply to Patrick (who I don't know from Adam), and also his reply on Track link, I think this all could have been handled better. I mean you go almost a year (or more??) between issues and nothing at all was heard, what gives? I understand there were problems but it is a business and paying customers should not be treated that way. One man show or not how much time would it have taken to post a message on one of the forums? That would have gone a long way to stop the many questions that were asked on the various armor modeling sites. In the thread on TL someone told everyone what it's like to run a one man operation. Hopefully Pat can keep everything running smoothly now, but if not maybe it's time to hire some help? For those interested here is a link to the thread on TL:
