going to New Mexico for 2 weeks to go do some backpacking in the mountains, leave Tuesday morning

I'll take pictures, I hear the thunderstorms look pretty cool at a distance. Anyone from that area know how hot its been lately? Just curious, seeing how I can't avoid the weather any ways.
