The other night I pulled out the 98 version of Godzilla. I had been seeing those comercials where they use him to eat the 18 wheeler full of chips and remembered I liked it. Now I have this propensity to think certain classic rock songs should be attached to certain movies. My biggest disappointment with American Werewolf in London was they didn't use Zevon's Werewolves of London song. So for Godzilla I dug out my BOC best of and put on----what else---"Godzilla" major cranked up.....ROCK ME AMADEUS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have always loved the monster flics. I have managed to collect almost all the old Universal 30's and 40's stuff on DVD. 5 mummies flicks, 6 Frankenstein ones. This is the only Godzilla not made with some guy jumping around in a rubber suit. It is a rip off of JUrrassic park sure, but the graphics are OK and with a driving Rock song from Blue Oyster Cult, well it ain't as bad as all that. But hey, I don't watch shows like Will and Grace (Sreaming Rhesus Monkey) or Queer guy for the Straight Guy (WHAT??!!) Or Broke His Back Mounting Him type stuff.

Yea I like the classic 50's stuff.....early Ray Harryhausen, and I sure remember all the cheesy "big-bug" movies with affection---- the giant ants, locusts, Tarantula, Gila monster. They used to be called horror, nowdays I call them monster as the horror of today seems to dwell more on rip 'em, slash 'em and buckets of blood everywhere. Aliens, Predators, and Terminators all are clssified as "monsters" in my book....Freddie, Jason, and Michael go to the head of the class in the Horror genre

I am with Cheyenne, I love B-Movie monsters. I love both versions of the "Thing". I still watch them and don't get bored. Another good one is "The Being". It is monster movie from Idaho. I am collecting as many movies (VHS and DVD) as my wife will allow. She does not get my obsession with them. Oh well.

Is there any cowbell in that song? I think we need more cowbell.

PS

I too am very fond of B-move monsters. Tremors - the late-80's sendup of B-move monsters is one of my all-time favorites.

My wife OTOH...
