August 9! Who's entering?

I think I'll enter a Fw190 and some cars.

I'm trying to finish a SAS Pink Panther Land Rover. Only started last week. Yet to finish constructing. Putting eduard photo-etch on it takes forever! I spent the whole day just constructing the smoke dischargers alone! Kudos to Stargek for running the competition. At least I'm forced to finish at least one more kit by august :-)

I wonder if the local Dragon people will also run a competition...now that would be interesting

I won't be entering due to time constraints....but I would be interested to go see some well-built model...

Do you know where the competition will be held ?

Just curious, only Tamiya model allowed or any brand under the sun allow for this competition ?

I hope to find time to go down and take a look at those models. And maybe check out what good deals Tamiya might have for us.

The competition will be held at marina square.

Tamiya only, which limits it quite a lot. Luckily I have 3 inprogress items, so I'll try to rush them.

1/24 Toyota Celica with TRD mechanical bodykit
1/24 JGTC 2003 Calsonic Skyline GTR
1/72 Fw-190A-3 Hahn

Thought of trying out 1/48 armor for the diorama competition, but I don't see figure sets readily available in this scale... so maybe next time.

Think I will pass, doubt my skills are good enough for this stage yet. But will loved to drop by and see the submission. Any idea if there will be any sales there?

Cheers!

hey guys,
don't be shy about entering. i'm not good either, but i am entering. i'm sure i'll get criticised left right and centre for my entry but what the heck, i'm sure i'll improve after this experience.
i don't work for stargek, but i kind of figured that organising this competition involves hiring a space at Marina for 6 days isn't cheap, plus there is no registration fee for entering the competition. it is costly. they need or support so that they can say the event was successful and do it again next year.

look at it as a chance to reduce your stash if not for anything else.
come on guys, have a shot!

Yay!! I'm keen to enter into this competition. But I haven't been building anything for a long time now, don't know if I have enough time to build one for the competition. Maybe I just build a small kit ... possibly a M8 Stuart light tank or something.

Do we need to fill up any form for entry? if yes, where can I get the form?

Thanks for any information.

I too bought a Pink Panther about a month before this competition... but alas! lazyness and other commitments delayed my build and eventually did not enter
Hope they have another competition next year.
And thanks for the pictures!! I think I will make a trip down there myself today to look at all the fine models on display.
I salute to all those who put in an effort to join this competition

Hi all,

Managed to go down to see the model on National Day and only stay there for half hour only...

Saw a lot of nice AFV and very cool modern fighter jet....

BTW, anyone know who came in first for the AFV category?

Hey...Hey...Hey...Members,

A big round of applause for all who submitted the works and very glad to see such a good response his year.

Wonder if they will consider another competition next year?? Seems right time to start for next years project...

Once again, look forward to seeing you guys and I am really glad that I've joined and the biggest take away is to get to know more people in this hobby.

Not just a hobby for the lonely...

A hobby that you engrossed yourself in the work bench and sniffing in as much glues and paints as possible...

Knowing that there are so many around the country that sniff in as much as you do...Ha
