Help! The wing guns on my 3 Bf 109s for the Luftwaffa group build all have massive steps in them, so I need to replace them. The barrals aren't a problem but they seem to have cone shaped flash suppressors, how do I make these?

What scale are we talking about here? If it's 1/48th scale or above you could try looking around for some bits or pieces that have the same taper as the flash suppressors of the MGs on your model. If you need detailed pics of the guns, they are available on the Tamiya Me Bf 109 interactive CD rom, if you don't have this, I'd be glad to have a look on it for you and screen grab an image. Let me know if you want me to.
As a starting point for some bits to modify, try looking at the 'nibs' of cheap ball point pens, they might be suitable and you've probably got one or two lying around.
