My compressor just died.

There I was just finished masking off a bumper, and sprayed it white, cleaned the airbrush, and while cleaning it, I kept hearing a faint hissing sound. kept looking, checked all 4 air hoses, airbrushes, couldn't find the leak......
then I turned it around and there the little devil was..... my tank sprung a pinhole leak.

OH well, I guess I got my $25.00 dollars out of it, and after 50 years of faithful service to myself and the previous owner, I guess it's time to spring for a new one. I already know the new one isn't going to last me as many years as this one did......

:| You don’t happen to need any help finding a place to dispose of it at do you? I could use the spare parts on mine. And I’m not talking about my compressor either.
:-X :-) :-)
I’m just kidding my compressor and still are both working fine.
:-) :-)

But seriously I’m sorry to here about the compressor and I hope you can find a new one that works just as good.

Dave,
All joking aside...that's some interesting electrical work you've got there. Don't let the Fire Marshall ever come inside your work area!
But don't worry we won't tell......
Best regards,

Hi Dave

Man, I would not say that thing looks old, but the hissing sound you heard was the its steam engine. :-) :-) Just playing. I am sorry to hear it died in the middle of a project. Then again thats when those type of things always seem to happen. Hope you get a new one soon. You are right. the ones they make now would never last 50 years.

Fire Marshall.... now that's funny.... good thing the other side with the additional multiplugs aren't in view...... :-)

New one is ordered, just hope Dixie has it in stock, and ships soon....
Oh well, I guess I could do a figure while I wait.

I'll have to wait until tomorrow night before I take it out to the dumpster.....
The neighbors may think that I'm doing strange stuff I shouldn't be doing in my apartment..... :-) :-)

Don't throw it out Grumpy.
It would make the perfect backdrop for a Jurassic era campaign. A few dinasours, some cavemen, and that compressor............

Dave,
And old warrior like that at least deserves a "Burial at Sea" with someone blowing Taps.
We salute the old warrior and drink to his memory....
Good luck with the new one.

50 years of faithful service. They just don't make'em like that anymore.

Could you have the hole in the tank welded up? Just a thought. Would probably fail somewhere else pretty soon anyway.

Wow Grumpy. I think that may classify as an antique. Sorry to hear about your loss.

I'm too old for that, the $200.00 isn't going to make me live on the streets..... :-) :-) Besides, a 5 gal tank would take up way too much room in my small workshop/bedroom...... :-) :-)

This is so quite, it has never woken any one up when it starts, if I forget to shut it off before bed.

I'll ship it out as soon as new one gets here..... I just don't have the space for anything larger.

Well Matt, when you get it try some JB Weld on that hole. I used it on mine and it's held for a couple of years now. It's a two part epoxy for metals. Just clean up around the hole and dab it on. Works great.

Matt will have to come to NJ for the tank..... , all that's being shipped is the compressor itself. :-)

Nah...... We'll put a new tank on it....... A slightly larger one....... Just have to see what "plumbing supplies" I'll need yet.

OK... Update..... No need to the propane or Freon tank.... I just won a 3 gallon tank on Ebay for 10 bucks...... it'll work out better!!!!! I'll have to do some fab work to get the Motor & Cylinder to mount to it........
