I'm I the only one or is there others out there that are 100% p***ed off with hearing about the world cup already and it hasn't even started yet!!!
Every time you turn on the radio or TV that's all you hear, just about every advert you see or hear no matter what they're selling is cashing in on the world cup.
World cup this, world cup that, yak yak yak.
Over paid footballers earning even more money by doing ads for all these companies and so many cars driving around with bloody flags flying from the windows. It's driving me mad.
Whens the next space shuttle going up, maybe I can get a seat and get off this planet for a while.

Oh poor ol' Vic! I have a draughts board I could send you, and some 'Allo "Allo videos if you want...
Other than that you're welcome to drop around, as a few ex pat lads are decking my house with flags of St.George... We get the 'early' game at 11pm, so yes I'm willing to alter my sleeping patterns for a month or so...
Cheers mate
(Enjoy your Tang) :-)

I dont see how its any different than any other sport. No offence Vic. We hear about baseball when they are in "the early stages" of spring training. We hear about hockey when are just assembling the teams to start training camp. I got commercials with gretzky changing the game in his new ford. Enough said. Its all marketing and brainwashing people in the hopes of getting them so wrapped up in something that they will buy anything somehow related (no matter how far fetched)

Later

P.S. Go Netherlands

Go Netherlands

Gday Brian
The result yesterday was a good one for both our teams I reckon... Holland taught the Aussies how to play posession football in that first half, and we showed you how to miss consecutive passes to team mates... I don't think they were ready for the physicality of our play though; lesson to other teams is don't try nuffin fancy, and lesson to us will be how well we play with 9 or 10 men! :-)

Brad, I go for the "Allo allo" videos, I liked that series :-)

Hi Brian,

Most sports just get a bit of normal coverage over here, football (which I can't stand) always gets much to much coverage and when it's the world cup or the euro rubbish it just gets silly.

At least the world wide Man U craze seems to be dying off

All the best

Vic:

I can only imagine the football culture in Europe. Mostly hockey and football here in Canada.

Brad:

That was some game. Luckily Cocu will be able to play but still no word on Snejder and Van Bronckhorst. Damn the Socceroos played rough. I think Netherlands didnt expect that kind of play, especially in a (not-so) friendly :-)

Only a few more days...

I don't understand what the fuss is all about. Football preseason doesn't even start until the end of August...

As much as I hate football, and as much as I like to fly the flag of my birth country, it don't realy matter, as Holland will be chucked out soon... I mean, why should somebody who is paid about $30.000 (average!!!!) a week bother for two weeks??...

It makes me sick...., really sick
