In getting such great responses from members here, it brought a good point to mind, so I thought id share that with everyone. Why I come here. Ive been to many model shows, contests, and club meetings, and though they are fun, I always seem to walk away with many questions unanswered. especially from the shows/contests. To me, the contests were a way to see how Im doing on my builds. Not to see if Im better than anyone else, but to see how "I" myself am doing. Thats why I like the contests that award you for your work against yourself, Golds, silvers etc , not 1st 2nds and 3rds. That way I can say, ok, so that Tiger I just built needs improvement....but HOW? what does it lack, what did I miss? Or even if I won a medal, I wouldnt know why I won over the other? and you cant ask the "Judge" or so called judge, because that would mean you were "complaining" No, I just want to know what my work lacks or where it needs improving. And the clubs, well, 1st Saturday of the month at 10 am....its like winning the lottery if I have time to make it to that once a month chance to meet with others on a day I usually cant make. which again, I end up walking away with more questions than answers. Thats why I love these forums. A bunch of guys and gals sharing their work and experiances/techniques with anyone and everyone without a schedule! Now I can look back at my old models and compare to my own work and so..ok, so, thats what that Tiger lacked, and thats what I need to do in order to enjoy the results. Now I dont need a bronze or silver or gold in order to know how Im progressing. And in turn, I can share that info with the next guy/gal and he/she too can progress without the frustration of walking away with questions. So, this is why Im here and I thank everyone involved, the owners, moderators, and members! Keep up the great work, posts and most of all, keep up the modeling! ok, my book is finished

Feedback, validation, friendship, obligation. Those are the top four reasons I join.

I like to receive and give feedback on projects when I can. I like the validation I get when things go well. I've read and interacted with some of these people so often that I have friendship with a bunch of them. I feel obligated to share my knowledge with newer modelers.

That's why I'm here -I'm glad you got here and are finding a resource to help you out.
