I had one of the best articles by minature modeller Calvin Tan in the publication Miltiary Modeling. I lost this and all books and hobby publications due to hurricane Katrina. I dont recall the year or issue number of this artcile. It came out about 1999. It showed step by step how he primed figures, and then used black and then white for highlights before painting minature figures. I think this was of a resin Sherman Crewman holding a shell. Anway the article was better than the recent OSPREY publication by Calvin Tan. Do any of you recall the year this article came out? and if there are other publications with articles by Calvin Tan?

Hi Roger.
It was military modelling Vol.32 Nr.11. (27/9/2002).
It is indeed a cool article ... I built and painted Tamiya´s 1/16 "greatcoat and machinegunner" with this method. Wasn´t 100% successful, but I sure learnt a lot. Ive got the Osprey book as well, and I think its great. Some very useful tips in it.
Don´t know of any other articles as such, but look at this on WW2MM ... click here
