I wound up entering 9 (yes, NINE!) exhibits into the show.... and won with six. Two firsts (LST and Farm Scene) , Two seconds (Marooned Pirate and German Steelworks) and two thirds (LCVP and my Captain America vs Red Skull).

My "triple panther" was the one I thought would do best, but it didn't even "place".... kinda hard to figure out what these judges are looking for. The guy who has won "Peoples Choice" two years in a row didn't place in that category either - and I thought his IDF scene was one of the very best!

C'este la vie... next up is the Tulsa Show, then Oklahoma City, and finally Fort Worth... then I'm done for the season!

Steve and I both took pictures from the show, and we can post them seperately in another message.

Congrats Keith! Excellent pieces you had entered, we enjoyed seeing them at the show. The wife and I went to Squadron today, she got bit by the bug after seeing the figures displayed and woke me up this morning so we could make it to the warehouse early. lol

She really loved your shipwrecked pirate, as did I. I think my favorites of yours were the pirate, steelworks (nice and busy) and the Capt. America vs Red Skull.

I was a bit shocked that Keiths life and death of a Panther didn't figure into the hunt but was more shocked that our friend who is one of the best figure painters I've seen and does everything equally as well in a diorama didn't even place. The only thing I would go with is subject matter. It wasn't World War 2 German, it was '73 Yom Kippur War. I'll post some pictures later including one of Keith mimicking Mark SPitz. Enjoyed meeting Moe's wife and I think I might be partially responsible as I told her tales of my ex-wife getting hooked on modeling when I took her to a show. Poor MOe, he won't have any trouble buying kits and stuff anymore just plagued by "Where's mine !!!" when he does. JimF and Moxnicks hung around a bit as well. Did manage to get several new folks to check out the site so hopefully out little platoon here will grow.

She enjoyed meeting you guys too and seeing your work, now she's super psyched about figures. We'll have to see how that works out, she started her research on the first one she wants to do the kamikaze bust.

Having recently read Eve of Destruction (and being an IDF modeler for over ten years) I'd like to see some of those Yom Kippur pics.

OK, I am going to try to post a few pix from show

the first one is frm the YOM KIPPUR DIORAMA, the second is Keith mimicking Mark Spitz and the last is a spectacular 72nd scale dockside. I took a ton of pix of this and the Yom Kippur dio's but I used my film camera which has great close-up capabilities. Sorry can't share with you guys. I did the same with Keiths stuff.

Very good job. Nine is a ton of projects! You came out with an awsome showing.

Congratulations

If it's not done already (there are a couple of show features) you can submit the photos for an OD feature of the show.
