In addition to the numerous awards being presented by Dragon Models and associated manufacturers exhibiting during the competition aspect of DX 06, T-Factory has been fortunate enough to be included in the events with four sponsored awards of our own. Each award included its own cup and cash prize. A 35th scale model gives you an idea of the scale of the Cups.
-The MIG Productions and T-Factory Award for “Best Finish” Includes a $100 USD cash prize.
-“Xtreme Modelling Award” Sponsored by Xtreme Modelling Magazine and T-Factory. Includes a $100 USD cash prize
-Judges Grand Award Sponsored by T-Factory, includes a piece of beautiful Waterford Crystal mounted on a marble base and includes a $100 USD cash prize. The award is presented to a single modeler whom in the judges opinion exemplifies the elan for which military modelling has become.
-Best In Show Sponsored by T-Factory, includes a trophy and $200 USD gift certificate.
All models at Dragon Expo 2006 in competition must be Dragon,Tamiya, Italeri, Hasagawa, Zvezda, Lion Roar or Mini-Art, or use a good portion of any of the manufacturers in the completed model or diorama. The catagories are: 1/35 Armor & Wheeled Vehicles 1/48 Armor & Wheeled Vehicles 1/72 Armor & Wheeled Vehicles 1/48 Aircraft 1/72 Aircraft Dioramas and Vignettes (All Scales) Ship (All Scales) Each category will have a very nice trophy as 1st place with a gift certificate for products.
The show location is the new Anaheim Convention Centre a short trip from LAX. Over three days (June 23rd-25th) there will be heaps of raffles, veteran guest speakers, Japans Best Modellers, Ron Volstad, Tom Cockle and Gary Edmundson, special dinners and exclusive new model premiers by Dragon (Sd.Kfz.234/1), Tamiya (Char B?) and Italeri (Sahariana).
