Hi guys
I was just over on Tamiya's web site reading an article about this weathering kit they offer. I was wondering if anyone around here knew anything about them. They look really easy to use, and give great results. I've checked a couple of hobby shop sites and can't seem to find anyone who carrys them.
Thanks in advance
Harry

You mean the powders? Some of my buds used it and based from their experiece, they feel pretty much like make-up powders, except that they carry mud/ whitewash and dirt colors.

On a whim, I picked up the "Mud" stick..... haven't gotten around to using it yet though. Has the look and consistency of a crappy tan/brown lipstick.

I have both of the Tamiya weathering kits and they work fine for me. They are very easy to use and with a little practice they make very convincing exhaust, smoke, cordite, mud, dirt, etc. stains. I've used the kits on every model I've built so far and can hardly tell that any powder is missing so they should last a very long time.

Hi guys
Thanks for the replys. I think I'm going to try and find a set of the powders.
Ahhh Kevin I would not let it get out that you are using your girlfriend's makeup for anything.
. Just playing, man

I was wondering if you could use some earthtone color makeup? Me and the wife were in a Hobby Store and I showed her the Tamiya weathering powders, She asked me why don't I just use eyeshadow instead?

I like to use a mixture of earth tone pastels for weathering. I bought some really cheap from hobby lobby and they always produced great results. If you add a tiny bit of water you get a pretty wash affect.
