How is everyone doing on their Abrams (or NA allied vehicle)? I have finished detailing and painting the battery box, and have the drivers compartment almost completed. I am having to hold up until more resources are forthcoming. I still need some pics of the hull when the turret is removed and of the turret basket, if anyone can help. How is everyone else doing?

Construction on my Abrams has been flying! I've got the turret halves glued together, with lots of putty stuffed in the huge gap on the underside.
I've also got the gun together, all 18 roadwheels (including sprocket wheels)... I think that's it. It doesn't look like too much now That I've typed it here, but it seems like more!
Having to sand seams off of all 16 roadwheels is a pain. Sand a little bit off, stretch fingers to avoid cramps, sand, stretch, sand, etc..
I'm having fun building the tank, and that's what counts!!! :-)

I am building a Crusader Mk.II. I was able to completely assemble the tank's hull but haven't even started on the turret. I will get the hull primed later tonite and post a picture to show my progress.

I am going back to school on Saturday which means no modeling until Spring Break. I hope I can have the Crusader ready by mid April.

Cheers,

I got my M3 Stuart "Honey" from Academy for Christmas and am getting the Eduard PE for it momentarily. It may be a while until I start and it looks like alot of extra detailing will be involved. Here we go again...

I think the original guidelines were:
-You had to be a student.
-Vehicles were limited to those used during the Gulf War (preferably Allied units)
-build started Jan. 1st
-build ends whenever your model is done*

*I don't know about this one... but it's the only way I'll meet a deadline!

Actually, the guidelines were extended to WW2 allied armour used in the desert although the group build should have been just for the M3 "Honey"

Also,
