Andrei Korbanic had a retrospective of his work over the years, a totally amazing display, and it brought back fond memories as I remember sitting in his basement many years ago, watching and learning from him. Was wonderful seeing such classics as "The Death of Wolf" again, and his self portrait from his college days. One I was privileged to watch from start to finish, and then was again privileged to be allowed to bring to class one night to show my professor, and classmates what I wanted to learn to sculpt. He even repaired it, without complaint or getting upset, after my dingbat girlfriend broke it.
Was great meeting the other Armorama members, if even it was only for a few minutes, and I truly am sorry if I missed anyone. We got a pretty nice group photo.
I shot over 300 photos, so it will be a while before I sort them, and will be able to post them. but I'll get them done ASAP, and over to the figure editor also ASAP.
It truly was wonderful seeing all yous old guys, and God willing, I'll be back next year, hopefully for Friday, and Saturday, and will be much less pressed for time, and we can really catch up on old times.
I can honestly say I have missed seeing you guys each year, and can also say I still miss my old buddies Phillip O Sterns, and Henri Lyons and our quite little (sometime off beat, and off color) conversations throughout the day.
Well, enough babble about what a wonderful time I had. If you have never been to the MFCA Show, I suggest you make plans to attend at least one in your life time. It's not just for figures, and there were also some outstanding aircraft, ships, and vehicles on display. As an "Open Judging System", it is a top notch show.
Here's a few photos to perk you up!
and a fully crewed 1/32 scale-54mm ship.
