Hi

I was wondering what you guys use to prime your models?

I am currently using Tamiya's grey primer spray cans. They provide top quality finish and coverage, but at R70+ (can't remember what I paid) per can they are starting to eat into my wallet. So my question is:
What locally available primers would you recommend that won't break the bank?

Cheers

Hello ed,

If you are using an airbrush, Humbrol no. 1 is a good primer. You can also go to your local Midas/Mica and get an automotive primer, just don't add the hardner. It works out cheaper in the longrun too.

Hi Ed,

Although I've recently started using Tamiya white primer, I used to use either a thinned matt/flat white or light grey Humbrol. As I've now started making the change to acrylics, I will be using Vallejo primer or off-white.
