Greetings all,

Cliff aka Mr Roo gave me some info about making links within the posts.

However, idiot that I am I must be deleting or not deleting a symbol.

Here's an example of my basic attempt, can anyone spot what I'm doing worng?

https://www.accurate-armour.com/

Instructions were to delete 'put url here'. Should I be deleting the extra http//: ?

Thanks in advance

Al

If you're wanting to get a link into a post here on the site here are the steps
1. Open a browser and navigate to the site you want to link TO
2. Copy the URL from the Address line at the top
3. Open a second browser and load Armorama.com (it should be your home page wink wink )
4. Open a thread, and start a post
5. Right above the text box and emoticon box are a few little oval/rectangle 'tools' the first is a URL tool, the second is a URL= tool
6. Click the URL tool it will put a string in your post
7. replace the http://put.url.here text with the URL from step 2 above - highlight this text and paste in the URL

This will put in a link like this
http://www.history.rochester.edu/steam/thurston/fulton/chapter7.html
The URL= is basically the same only you put in a 'title' like this
Your Title

Hi Scott,

Skipper put me onto it, I wanted to post it in response to Cheyenne's post about building a Tramp Steamer. Great dio, there's enough there to keep one busy for a long , long time. I was thinking about the 1/35 ECHO MTB at the time!!!

Thanks for clarifying the link thing.

Cheers

Hi,

For links in the KitMaker net, excluding the photos site, the link should start at 'modules.php'; the first part 'http://....kitmaker.net/' it's not necessary.

José,
This is more for editors and on links withing the same site. For people posting a link to a page on (for example) Armorama, they should put the entire URL if they are using BB code (other wise without the http:// the BB code will not work).

If you are using HTML A tags then you can start with the "modules.php" part if you'd like to make sure they don't move from one domain to another.

Yeah...a bit complicated idn't it. :-)
