Hi i Have been searching through the to topics about air compressors and couldn't find anything that would lead me to decide on which air compressor to buy. I have been modelling for some time now (mostly WWII german armor), I have deceant air brush and have try to use compressed air in cans, with very poor effect, so for now i stick to painting with regular brush however I'm very interested in purchasing nice inexpensive air compressor that won't ruin me financialy (between $100-200).
Can You guys point me to the right direction of which is good (pressure setting would be nice) and will lats a while, and eventually where can I buy it?
I'm New York City.
Thanks You.

Check out the home/shop comperssors at Wal-Mart or the likes. They come with a tank and pressure regulators already built in. You can get a great one for about $125.

By the way, you will get a better response if this is placed in the appropriate forum, Tools and Supplies.

You could check out Air Brush City. I have a couple of combo sets I bought from them a few years ago and they are still working great.

I've seen (and barely heard) this little guy in action. It's virtually silent and designed for this hobby. Tuck who posts here occasionally, demonstrated it to the club once and said he could use it without waking his then toddler. You can find it at Micro-Mark

You can't go wrong with the Campbell/Hausfeld compressors at Wal-Mart in the Automotive area. I have one that has been working great. You need to be a moisture trap for it though.

I got one of these -

mines red tho -they must have changed colors - works good semi quiet (for a garage ) 2 gallon tank so it does not run much after it fills up- automatically tops off the tank when needed!

OK i went to my local Wal Mart and looked at the air compressors but I think what i would need/want is air pressure
regulator and moisture trap (am I correct?) i have looked just now on the net and this one seems to be perfect for modelling. What do You guys think about this brand/model?
here the link

It's Paasche D200R with air regulator and moisture trap.
Your feedback will be greatly apperciated
