My older brother's a Chief down at Nellis where they did a lot of testing with the F-22, and he knows a lot of the NCOs who serviced them. They all said that while it might be a good in the air, the F-22 is a gigantic piece of junk from a maintenance standpoint. The low observability requirements are so high and so easily downgraded to unacceptable levels that it's a huge pain to deal with. The planes spent more time in maintenance they they did in the air. I guess this is another example of how that plane might be more trouble than it's worth.
