Hi Matt,

I normally use turps. I just brush it around the joint I want to loosen and let it seep in. It takes a bit of patience and some gentle rocking. Then I clean up the parts, wash them, and try again!!!

One thing to take note of. It the parts have fully dried out then that should work OK. If the glue might still be a little tacky be careful as it will damage the parts as you separate them

I sure I read somewhere on site you can use nail polish as well but I've never tried that one.

Hope this helps.

That same glue applied to the joint should weaken the bond, or a thinner glue like Testors liquid, Tamiya superthin, or even Tenax will weaken the bond enough to get the parts apart.

Good luck.

try this....freeze and thaw. depends on how much amount of glue you've used.

Hi Matt,

Glad that helped. I must admit I haven't used 'clean' turps of a while, usually just whatever happens to be around from brush cleaning. Sorry about the 'white' marks but they should paint over OK or add a bit of weathering??

I'm not sure if there is much difference in the strength of 'Turps' v 'White Spirit', I think it's white spirit I have at the moment but I always refer to it as 'Turps'. Sorry that didn't occur to me until you mentioned the white marks, but it does the job OK.

Cheers

Al
