i would like to do a cut-a-way section on my tank showing the interior.how would i do a nice clean crisp cut so the roof fits back on to the tank nicely (tamiya 1/35 38cm sturmtiger).

Physics will present a problem here. When you cut the roof off, you will loose the amount of plastic equal to the thickness of the saw. You could replace that with a very fine piece of evergreen rod and add several protrusions or a ledge at just the right level upon which the removable section would sit. You could also make the cut at a 45 degree angle so the removable section will fall back into place, but you'd still have to replace the lost plastic.

One thing you can try is scribing along the cut line over and over again . You'll still lose a little plastic, but it'll be far less. Old Tamiya Centurion roofs had to be corrected in this fashion.
Some folks might suggest dental floss, which I've used, but the scribing is easier and faster. Just go lightly until the blade finds its own groove.

A jeweler's saw. You drill a hole with your pin vise and insert the blade and reattach it to the other end of the saw and cut carefuly and slowly.
