Hi everyone,
Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that the site seems to be slowing down. I have a dsl connection and for several days the site has been as slow as an old dial up connection for information transfer.
Just curious,
Brian

The gallery is a bit slow at times - more on the upload and such - not bad though.
Site wise - nope, Cable at home, T1 at work and no problems

Yes, it is slow.
I have a very good connection and still, when calling a page, i get a screen in dark grey (the background) for 2 to 3 seconds that then slowly starts filling with the content.
Its a pity because it reduces the joy of the "Armorama experience" a bit, but what does it for me is the content and the nice people visiting this site. Therefore I live with the slowness.
Besides this is a typical aspect of every succesful and growing site. servers and professional hardware can cost an arm and a leg and upgrading always costs more time and human involvement than anticipated.
But I do find it a bit weird that some of us are complaining about the speed while others say that everything is normal.

It is definitely very slow. Today it took me almost a minute to get as far as the forums.
I have Broadband 6 and can download data at 5 Mbps so it's not my connection.
I'm happy to wait though... I need my fix...
(EDIT) After 4 minutes this still hadn't posted.

I have cable at home and T1 at work. I find that around 1130am to 1pm EST in the US is always slow.

Cable - slightly slow, pics are not loading until a refresh. Cleared the cache and temp files - did not help.

Hi guys,
Thanks for the input. I noticed a difference since the server change but it was not that bad at first. I figured it was just the pains of new equipment and I expected it to improve but it has regressed to the point it is very slow (drabslab describes my dilema to a tee) at least for me.
Sincerely,
Brian

I am definately seeing page transition times a lot slower than I would like. For the people seeing really odd behaviour (5 mins to get to forums!) I would suggest that those would either be isolated incidents (server offline for a moment) or some issue with a firewall or security application on your PC.
The reality is this... why do some of use have no problem loading (for example) the reviews submission page, where for others it locks up their machines? I don't have a clue other than your ISP connection (at your ISP) has a very fast Time Out variable setting.

On 2mb broadband it's just taken 3 minutes to load this page, and another 1.5 to post this reply. It may not be the site though - could it be international or long- distance links?

:-) :-) It's funny here.... once it loads great, next slows, next is normal, next slow..... really no system to it.
But I also noticed it while at LuckyModel, and Squadron, so it could very well be my wonderful over priced Opt-on-line. :-) :-)

It's also slow here with DSL. I can d/l as fast as 5 Mbps when everything is perfect.
I've have noticed that the slowdown for me is usually west coast sites. I also get the dark grey screen for several seconds before content loads on Armorama.
Gremlins maybe?

Hi pod123!
Once you have registered to the gallery, hit the refresh button of your browser, maybe this will work. I know I have to do it to access the gallery sometimes...
