Looks really good. It looks suspiciously like a super-datailed 1/35th Trumpeter kit to me though. I'm not convince the write-up is authentic. One would think if you put that much effort into it, you would have some in-progress shots to show it. I'm not convinced.

Umm? I don't know Gino? it's hard to swallow but compair those pics closely to the Trumpeter and you can see a big differance. Allot of those panels look fitted and the detail is quite a bit better.

The reason I have no problem with this being original is the fact that Fine Scale did an article a few years back about a guy who hand built from aluminum a 1/24 (could have been 1/16, I honestly don't remember other than it was a large scale Corsair). Every part. It is to this day the most amazing piece of modeling I have ever seen. I have the issue some where if anyone wants to see the pics I can try to locate it.

My point being, if that guy was capable of reproducing that Corsair I figure others can manage this Hind. But of course it could be a fake.
Cheers!

THIS HIND IS NOT A FAKE!!!!

This Hind is for sure scratch built. I have seen it in person at the 2005 Rocky Mountain Model Club contest.

The builder, Alex Sklyar, from Edmonton, Alberta...won the People's Choice Award.

He also won the following awards at the same contest:

-MULTIMEDIA, VACFORM OR SCRATCHBUILT -Gold Medal
-IPMS Edmonton's Choice Award
-Victoria Scale Modellers Choice Award
-"Are you Nuts?" Award
-Scheuerman's Cup 2005 Award

The Hind was spectacular to view. The images don't even begin to show the detail.

Ah...so this is where I shoulda posted...I asked in the Aircraft section if this was the one from Calgary last year...and indeed it is! I agree with Jason, I believe there were pics of inprogress on the table accompanying it...
As one of the Reps of Victoria Scale Modellers, it took us about 10 seconds to decide who we should give our trophy to..that much craftsmanship, unbeliveable!
