Hey all,
Bit dizzy over here.
One of my colleages commited suicide today. He shot himself in the garage of his station.
When I heard it I took notice of it and worked on; the phones keep ringing and we can't stop answering them. We are understaffed, so there was a lot to do. Everything was OK, although I felt sorry for the guys and those left behind.
Now I'm home and things are getting to me.
I only knew the guy sideways, because he worked at another station. He was 53 years old, a friendly cop who was always in a good mood, always nice words etc. Guess I never know, and hell, such is live I guess, but it's just the question: why him??
What was keeping him so busy that he, of all people, did this?
I know, from my work, that it's one of the standard questions for those "left behind" and mostly nobody knows for sure. How often I tell people myself. So, I try not to get this too close to me; it won't help anyone and we where not close, but somehow it does more to me as I want.
Well, enough, thanks for listening anyway!
Paul

Thanks guys!
Played with my kids yesterday evening; made me feel much bether. Things like this make you appreciate the things you take for granted. Perhaps that's the good in it.
I accepted the fact that he's dead, but still wonder what made him do it.
Well, thanks again for 'listening'!

Sorry to hear that Paul. Sometimes things like that just happen. Puts "having a bad day" into perspective.
