Hi all

Its still sinking in but Pam and I were very lucky.I had gone to work Pam phoned me and asked if i could drop off some cranbury juice for her.
I was lucky as i was working quite close .
She had said it would be ok for me to bring it home when i came home from work.
That was my intention however i was passing a store and decided to drop it off quick.
Got home Pam had just ended talking to her mom we walked onto the deck and she had a massive seizure and collapsed traping her arm in the rail.
She has never had one before and this came like a bolt out of the blue.
I managed to free her arm before it broke phoned 911 the emts took 25 mins thought she was going to die.
She has been all checked out and is fine except for loads of abbrasions and splinters and a cut tonge
Someone was looking out for her i hate to think what would have happened if i had not come home with that juice
Man we were lucky

Hey, yeah. They can be so scary. I've witnessed some doozies. 99% of the time, the person is okay. It's something treatable like epilepsy or diabeties, but, doctor's can find and treat them with adjustable changes in day-to-day activities and medications.

Take hope, we're praying for ya's!

25 minutes for the EMTs is ridiculous though, unless you live on an island, that is.

Good luck and good health,

Cuhail

Bloody Hell as they say..
Just count your lucky stars, as they do look out for you..

I'm glad she's o.k. though, and wish you both the best.

Sorry to hear of your troubles... I hope everything turns out OK.

Things happen for a reason Chris, in that I believe. I had a similar situation with my mother when I was in college. Just had a feeling, skipped class and went home to find my mother was having a heart attack...

Wishing you and your wife well...

Paul

Scary man, I' ll call you tonight, first the car accident in front of the house and now this, good thing you got the brain call to go home.
As long as Pam is ok, now it's a deep breath and no sleep for awhile keeping an eye on her.
We tried to reach you last night, I myself just read this now after work.

glad everything is okay.
But, what are you REALLY supposed to do if someone has a seizure? I heard putting something in there mouth isnt the best thing to do unless you want to break their jaw or get some teeth out

I'll tell ya, one of my best friends (and Armorama member:Vartha) Brad, has epilepsy which triggers Grand Mal seizures. My mom had Grand Mal seizures that triggered strokes (She was about 58 at the time) and so I've encountered many "Live action" seizures. The one thing BOTH told me was DO NOT try to put something in their mouth out of fear they will "Swallow their tongue". Brad told me just make sure that he didn't hurt himself with the fall to the ground and stuff around him. Don't restrain the person and just keep them safe until the seizure passes, which it always did. He was always alright and just pretty tired when it was over.
That's the limit of my seizure-response training. Hope it helped.

Cuhail
