Seems like they have it available already. Seems like things come out sooner in asia than in america so that would explain the coming soon on tamiya usa and availability at luckymodel.

Maybe iam wrong and its simply on pre-order

dont laugh

But my gf asked me if i had any use for her old makeup brushes , because the bristles are so soft , they are excellent for blending in pastels and pigments when weathering.

Don't remember where but I read about a modeller using makeup for weathering.

i heard of this before and if not mistaken they're in Malaysia.

so what next?? probably Loreal will come out for their own pigment just to please our wives so that they can approve our buying.. hehe

and maybe supermodel will show how to apply the pigment correctly as their Tv ads..

Considerably better sticking with the decent stuff - Mig Pigment powders, rather than with these rather 'gimmicky' sets from Tamiya...Jim

Well, in the local artstore I can get 100 grams of pure pigment for the same price as one jar of MIGs - nothing wrong with MIGs stuff, its slightly better than the stuff at the artstore, but when you use pigments not only for models but allso for dioramas and buildings, the price does matter.

Just make sure there isn't any make up residue on the brushes, I ended up with interesting highlight colouring on one my models 'cos I didn't check that!

Cheers

Depends...I find that the black that comes in the Tamiya weathering set works much better then the MiG pigment for soot stains....just apply it and no need for using water or whatever to make the MiG pigments stick better.

With this set, I think the Silver and Gunmetal would be useless since the only good application for them with the supplied brush is to weather MG's and metal parts on rifles.

Luke,

I saw these in a Massachusetts hobby (mainly train) store 2-3 weeks ago . So they are definitely available in this country.

Cheers, Richard
