What make and model of printer do you have?

It may be that the ink is running out.

It could be low ink, dirty nozzles, or heads out of alignment. The cleaning and alignment utilties are normally found in your printer set up windows.

Sounds like the ink nozzles are acting up. Our immediate action is to use an alcohol towelette to clean the contacts at the bottom of the ink tank and then run the cleaning utility again.

Sometimes you just get a bum tank.

I would be willing to take a wager that what Grumpy said is the issue. Your printer will have a function to "clean" the head and nozzles. Use that once or twice and align. Should be good to go after that.
