well I am posted to Edmonton this summer! Medical Services Group Headquarters, J3 Ops & Plans.

Hopefully I'll get to see some of you modelers lurking around Edmonton & cowtown this fall.

Cheers!

Yes, Sir, you probably will- and we have much better hobby shops here than you have near Gagetown. I grew up in Fredericton, so I know of what I speak!

haha, yeah, Fredericton is a hobbyshop desert, that's for sure!

Just found out that I will likely be going to 1 Field Ambulance instead, and probably living in the shacks (ugh)..still shacks in Edmonton are better digs than a tent in Khandahar I reckon!

Looking to arrive around 2 August...Jim C, I will be bringing about a dozen litres of red hombrew ale! Any other modelers in Edmonton are welcom to drop by my Q's for a brew too.

Driving from Freddy. Trying to plot my route right now, wondering if it is better to go from Winnepeg to Saskatoon direct, or whether I should shoot for Regina along the TCH and then crank it north to Saskatoon?

Not long now. I've driven both routes several times, and through the States once, and I recommend Winnipeg to Regina to Saskatoon. The roads from the Peg to Yorkton (where you meet Hwy 16) are atrocious. Hwy 1 to Regina is pretty ragged, but better, especially if travelling by night.
I also recommend those little animal whistles for your car! I'd had a lot of near misses through the Prairies at night until I put those on.
1 Fd Amb is where I am, although I'm in a part of the building where your peers only come to visit if they have to
Is this a change of cap badge for you? Your M113 book has you in the Guns.
Anyhow, welcome!

So now I'll know who to blame (or thank) when I get a tasking. :-)

Hi Mike, thanks for the route info. Yes, I left the guns last year to go HCA, I finished with CFMSS less than 24 hours ago.

I am actually posted to 1 HSG on paper, but have been unofficially told I will be seconded to 1 Fd Amb as the Ops O. I won't know for sure until I hit the ground though!

Take my word for it... it's a pretty safe bet.
