Hi all,
in the near future I'm moving to Richmond and was wondering if there are any good hobby stores selling model kits, Dragon, Tamiya etc as well as paints and all the other stuff? Also any local model building clubs? Can anyone on here advise me the easiest way to ship the models I have here over to Richmond (I have around 300 - 400 kits and accessories to many to sell and replace, my new other half wouldn't be to happy lol)? Many thanks for your help in advance,
Kenny.

Contact Ron Craig, aka pipesmoker on Armorama. He has the ins and outs of the IPMS and AMPS groups that meet right there in Richmond. He can also tell you which shops are still open.

Kenny,
There are three hobby shops in the Richmond area.
One is part of a national chain, Hobby Lobby. The other two are privately owned.
When you get here, contact me and I'll give you directions.
The local chapter of IPMS meets on the third Thursday of each month. Again, when you get an address, I'll get a newsletter mailed to you. There is also an AMPS (Armor Modeling and Preservation Society) chapter that meets on the second Thursday of the month.
As to shipping your models and accessories. The last time I had to move a lot of items over the water, the Army did it for me.
I would check with Fedex, DHL or United Parcel Service.
Is there an international United Parcel Service?

PM or email me if I can answer anything

Ron

hi guys,
many thanks for your help and look forward to meeting you all in the near future. I'll be visiting in April for 3 weeks and hope to visit the local IPMS.
I'm looking forward to my new life over there and new friends.
Cheers,
Kenny
