This post is just for a little housekeeping for the upcoming reading group. The book is An Army at Dawn by Rick Atkinson. The plan is to start on March 19th. If everybody has the book and you all think you'd like to start earlier I'm open for suggestions. I picked up the trade paperback on Monday and finished the prologue plus the first chapter by Thursday night. I'm certainly no speed reader and I wasn't pushing myself. I'm thinking a chapter a week should work. The chapters run about 40 to 50 pages, not counting maps or partial pages beginning or ending sections. If this sounds good for ever body we'll go with that. There are 12 chapters so we'd be looking at about 3 months, ending sometime in late June.

Does that work for everyone?

As an aside I've got to share with you all this. My oldest daughter thinks it's a big joke that I'm in a reading group. She says "so when you going to join Oprah's book club, going to chick flicks, and start crying when you watch Hallmark commercials?" In case you are interested I let her live.

Works for me, Rodge...
I personally am ready to go whenever the rest of the boys are, but the 19th is fine also!

Bought my copy on Sunday, and have just finished 'Armageddon' so I should be starting soon. Just my luck that I'll be off-line around the 19th
