Hey Joe. I'm Fernando, 27. I live in Long Island but will be moving to Brooklyn after the summer.

I do mostly sci-fi (gundam) but want to start doing armor.

I'd like to ask you, are there any good (not overpriced) hobby shops in NYC?

Hope to hear from you soon.

Hey,
I'm in Hackensack, right across the river in NJ. I been looking for a good modeling club in the area or at least, to find out about any shows in the area. I would have thought that NYC would have had shows regularly, but nothing. Let me know if you hear of anything.

So what about hobby shops in the city? Nothing? Everything is really overpriced!

Thanks, do you have the exact name of the shop? I can't find any info on the internet.

Well, you can start at Ridgefield Hobbies, on Rt 1&9 (called Broad Ave in Ridgefield NJ.) Then head North to Hi-Way Hobbies on Rt17 in Ramsey.
From there you can go north a little more, the hit Rt 287 South, take this to 23 South to the Totowa Hobbie shop, leave there then continue down to Rt 46 west, and then you'll hit Tech Toys, in Pine Brook. Then you can head out to Kenvil Hobbies, also on Rt 46. Once done there, you can swing down to Rt 10, and head east to Denville, and spend some more at F&M on Rt 10 west.
If you still have money, a wife and kids, you then can start your eastward trip back to the big apple. Take rt10 to 287N to 80E, to 280E and head over to Maplewood Hobbies, and from there you can head to HobbyMasters in Red Bank. And I'm sure there a quite a few I missed along the way.

These are all within a 50 mile radius of NYC.
