Anyone going? I'd like, but I gotta just remember that date and pray to God that my professors are being lenient that weekend.

I am going. ECS71 is going too. I think I may actually enter something.

Contest was really light on dioramas last year but the vendor room rocked.

I am with you on the "lenient" thing, Jeff. We have an ISO9001-2000 surveillance audit the following Monday...

I'll be there. Like Shaun said the vendor room last year did indeed rock. Some categories were light. Auto categories very competetive though. Vendor turnout has been very good the last few years from latest items to OOP kits. Last year CRM Hobbies, Discount Models, Formations just to name a few that I remember. Looking forward to it!

I am assuming you must be an IPMS member to enter?

Nope. Open to anyone. At least it was last year.

Sweet. I was looking at the registration form, do I have to pre-register my model or can I "walk-in" it? And when did the judging take place?

You can fill out the paperwork ahead of time and pay when you get there. Judging starts at 1:30. I usually enter my stuff, hit the vendors and leave and come back later, after hitting a few hobby shops.

Jeff

According to the flyer in the link you provided, judging starts at 1:30-until complete. Normally, participants fill out the registration sheets in advance. It saves on time and space. There is usually very little space to write out all the info and pens become a premium.

Most shows I've been to have a registration time period. Shortly after the regisitration is over, the judging begins. When the judges are done, there is a brief period when the organizers and head judges figure out who won what. The judging period depends on how many participants volunteer to judge and how many entrants there are.

When that is done, they announce the winners and award the trophies/plaques/medals/certificates/etc.

Ok so I'm in. Anyone else?

Are we having an Armorama table or a way to find each other?

There is another thread on this topic, several members talked about going in that thread. When my local club in Massachusetts held a show, I organized an Armorama sponsorship drive. I got members here to donate money so I could sponsor trophies in Armorama's name. Many of us got together and had group photos taken. It was rather neat listening to announcements of different categories that Armorama was sponsoring.

I don't think we had a local member in Indiana attempt any sort of organization. I'm not too local (150 miles+) and didn't find out about the show until this thread.
