I warn you, the hardwood floor god is just as nasty as his carpet cousin. You may have "woken a sleeping giant and filled him with a terrible resolve."

Myself I think the only thing to do is to sacrafice a figure once a month, normally an Italeri figure that isn't good for anything else, to appease the god.

How about a floor made out of something that will make the parts stay exactly where they fall !!!
Dont know how many times I see exactly where a piece falls only to have it mysteriously disappear as soon as I am on my hands and knees looking for it.

With careful use of powertools,I will dish my floor to a low spot in the middle.Small parts will gravitate to the low point, and be easily retrieved.
Just got to find a diesel powered block plane.

I must humbly admit that the carpet god's second cousin, twice removed, thrice excommunicated, concrete weener wannabe god, got one of my PE pieces today. I was working on my Jeep's shackles when it launched (the tweezer god's brother, merely by heineous marriage) into the nether. I confered with the workbench god to insure that he did not "protectively" collect it for me; he did not. He tried, but the air god's really nasty nephew grabbed it and, oh my, intentionally thew it to the carpet god's second cousin, twice removed, thrice excommunicated, concrete weener wannabe god. Damn it!!! So, I had to make new ones outta wire.

There IS a carpet monster, and model parts DO actually disappear into their fiberous black holes, -- somewhere, --- some time, --- some dimension.

In my humble opinion, the carpet monster resides in the same parallel dimension as the washing machine/dryer combo's that mysteriously devour single socks over time, slowly driving their owners to insanity.

Rumor says these monsters reside primarily in Rhode Island --- the home of Lord Long List. May our hero prevail in his war against them
