Whilst having a little research afternoon regarding the Battle of Chatham, I came across this bit of New York History .
I knew about the origins of New Amsterdam and the trade conections, but I never realised that we even gave you one of most famous Presidents...
Imagine if the Dutch had had a little bit more influence (or numbers..) the world might have spoken Dutch now... :-) .

Well... my grandfather in New Jersey went to great pains to let people know he was HOLLAND Dutch, not one of those low life German Dutch.
