Wonder why this machine is so "addictive?"

Hi, No matter how many times I turn this thing off during days that I am not too busy anymore, which aren't many, thankfully, I find myself coming back and turning it on again to look basically at the same stuff that I had seen on it not all that long before. Most of the time I spend about 10 or 15 mins. on the Net. itself and then maybe 5 or 10 mins. just playing solitare until that gets boring and I once again turn the whole thing off, only to find myself returning in maybe an hour or so to repeat the process one more time, with basically the same results.

Take care, Larry

Larry:

Welcome to the club. Take off your coat and pull up a seat. This is internet aholics 101.

I am a programmer and I find myself doing it too . The internet is addictive and also habit forming.

You are not alone

I'd be lost without my comp. There's so much out there to do. Online games, forums, visit a country that you've never been to! Brotha, you can take a trip and never leave the barn.

Amazing how the PC has ingrained itself into our lives.. Kinda makes you wonder what the next "time saving" invention will be that everyone will just have to have...

HI, Most probably just a case of the good old winter dull-drums too. Can't get out and mow grass, work in the garden, walk in the parks, watch the wildlife, commune with Mother Nature, so to speak, etc.

It seems that this time of the year the brain tends to get more crowded and filled in with the modern world of humanity. The "hurry-up and go-get-'em before the next guy gets it" sort of life style. Need to take the pipe and head for the hills and sacrifce to Mother Earth and try to get the brain box back into sequence with the ancestors and our real Mother. Get the head straight and let the really important things slide into their own proper order, spiritually speaking. It;s been to long since I've done that. That's all.

Take care, Larry

Time saving, you must be joking, i waste more time on this thing then anything :-) . Its very handy for researching and information retrieval but the amount of time i sit in front of this thing wondering what to do next is unbelievable. Note to self, TURN IT OFF :-) .

While reading the forums i rip about 15 cd's to my new 6Gb pocket drive. Just think 3 inches in dia, can hold appx 6k ripped songs. A rip song is a convert file to mp3 usually 1/10th the normal size. If a song is 30Mb then the mp3 will be 3 Mbs.
