Hi Y'all,
I'm researching WWI for a MkIV build that I'm working on and ran across this site,
http://www.network54.com/Forum/211833/thread/1088370788/last-1088381193/Colour+WWI+photos+(must+see!!)
They claim that these are original color photos and frankly I'm skeptical. What do you think?
Thanks,
Ken

Ken, I think these pix were discussed some months ago in a thread here, but I can't remember what the consensus was. Personally I think that they're genuine. Not that it's impossible to do a photoshop job on them, but the subtlety and quality of detail would take someone a long time to do.
For example, the pink palms of the negro troops, or the flowers in the background that wouldn't even be visible in B/W.

They are undoubtedly the real thing, read the posting about the autochrome process down the page from the pictures.
Colourised pictures don't have the subtlety of tones that those photos have.

I have seen these before but its always great to see them again. Im absolutely astonished by the quality of the photos for the time frame. I wonder what type of camera was used?
