DML Fallcshimjager (Monte Casino) is the base kit build OOTB.

I paint the pant first with mixture of Vallejo 830 German WWII Field Grey and 868 Dark Sea Gren (1:1).
The jump smocks is given black preshade and in this photo the 919 Foundation white primer is coated lightly on the surface.

I will later paint with splinter pattern.

the face

base color = 876 Brown Sand
First Shadow = base color + 814 Cadmium Red and 909 Vermillion (3:1:1)

more update to come

love to hear your comments

Again Boss as I mentioned in the other 'forum" my opinions are still from someone still learning. For expert advice, you'll have to wait for Patrick or the 2 Alans.

Work on the body looks okay thus far. The face will require several more coats of the first shadow except a bit broader on both sides of the face immediately below the cheek bones. Directly under the eyebrows will also need a bit of shadow but avoid the upper eyelids.

Actually at the bridge of the nose where the nose meets the forehead there are 2 fine lines on either side of the nose. Look in the mirror and try to make your face frown or berkerut and you will see 2 lines at each side of the bridge of the nose adjoining the eyebrows.

Painting 1/16 is tough especially when blending. Good start.

Zaidi,

I oso have this same figure..In fact, i think it was my first 1/16th scale figure. Anyways, after i painted the face, the colours turn out to be a bit too dark. Aiyah, now u showing all these figures, makes me want to revisit n redo some repainting leh.

Botak Master here. Boss on taking a second look at the face I think you may have to dilute your mix for the first shadow with a bit more water. For me the I have to apply about 4-5 coats of the first shadow before I can even see a little bit of difference than the basecoat, so that's how diluted it is.

Aaah...the features are coming along very well. How many shades of shadow and highlight are you planning on using Boss?

Very good progress and looking forward to more progress pics.

my plan is to do a few highlight...from Jaume Ortiz recipe, it's 3 shades of both...
in the photo, the 3 shade of highlight are done and only one shade of shadow is done...

probably the mid tone shadow and the final shadow will do the trick just nice...
and after that, i will try to blend the colors..and maybe another highlight color ..

thanks CK

Sil, are you thinking of toning down the redness in the skin. Macam sudah sunburnt.

Boss just curious, are you going to give him some stubble appearance like a "5 o'clock shadow" or is he going to be clean face? If I'm not mistaken Jaume's fig has some stubble.

Loo I think the redness may also be partly due to the lighting. I had the same problem with my Hitman head. He looks okay under fluoroscent but suntanned in the evening sun.

like CK mentioned, it's the lighting that cause the redness..the face look OK...
i will try various photo setting to get better result next...but i have to use more time to get all the setting done...i dont pakar lagi manual photograph...i just shoot with the preset mode...

Boss I'm sure you already know how to get the color for stubble but anyway this is what I found. The best shade for stubble for me is by mixing a little of the flesh basecoat with light or medium blue. Make sure its really superdiluted with water after mixing (1:30).

You may need more than one coat because it so diluted. Wait for each coat to dry before applying another because you may not see the effect immediately as the dilution is so high. When the coat dries it will show up as a pale bluish grey just like stubble. Add as many coats as you like for different thickness of the stubble.

firstly, apa itu CD rahisa?
secondly, I've experienced with these digital cameras, the background color makes it react differently because of the white balance. You might have to experiment them on different background colour. Pakai TShirt as background lah! The reason why a lot of movies do a blue screen shot for special effects is that blue is not a natural color and the camera sort of ignores it . I always feel that it works best.

Tengok Boss even your own kutuk botak kaki, Kenny making fun of you and worse still hijack your thread. Not that I want to batu api but eventually all enemies of Botakiis will suffer. :-) :-) (lanun style laugh again)

Hei....what's wrong with Jom Borak girlfriends photos Kenny? Must inform Jimbo someone is jealous. Anyway I'm going to use those photos for reference for future scuplting projects so its still modeling related.

wahlau! CK IS GOING TO MODEL MARIA ! After that he could apply to be her fan club president ! Of course you have to get the body done first b4 the clothes right. Let me know if you have enough references to get the measurements right. I'm sure we are all interested to 'review' it . ( insert smiley with a halo ring. too bad none here)

See boss, I am not main culprit for your thread sabotage.

On the other hand, this off-topic discussion is starting to get interesting. I am sure Jimbo has the appropriate dimensions for Beachbum sculpting. Loo will provide all the architect scaled rulers. Sill will provide the correct color tones. And I will provide breathing gas if anyone needs it at the end.
