Greetings.
I was in Uncle Sam's Air Force from '73 to '77 and "served" in beautiful Las Vegas (Nellis AFB). Looking for any F-111 folks out there.

They sure were, but we also had Thuds (F-105's) at Nellis, so the 111's wern't so bad in comparision.

Barry-- just out of curiosity, where did they put all the F-111s once they were out of the inventory? The bone yard? I recall seeing the last of Ravens depart through Langley way back when .... nice looking aircraft. Ashamed if all they are doing is rotting in Arizonia.
thanks

Worked FB-111's at Plattsburgh AFB, NY, 89-91 as a weapons loader (still doing that job). Sent them to Cannon AFB NM where they became F-111G's. Some of the 111's were sold to Australia. Most went to the bone yard, and some went on to become pigeon poo catchers (static displays). I prepped A/C 284, "Laggin Dragon" for it's retirement and last I saw of it was on a pedestal at Barksdale AFB. (was stationed there too.). Went to Nellis for Red Flag when I was working the 111 and was talking to a F-15 pilot who said that when the 111 sweeps it's wings and kicks in the AB, he couldn't hang with it because the 111 would be gone. Mach 2.5+ ;-)

Dave-- thanks for the update. She sure looked like a beautiful aircraft when I saw them on the ground. Continue to serve the Nation and do well.
thanks again.
