Hi,
I was just wondering what health precautions people take when filing plastic parts, and if the filings/dust is somthing that can cuase problems with health?
I ask about this as I have noticed that when filing parts for my Tamiya Sherman kit, it produces a very fine dust that I would imagine could be inhaled and cuases irratation to lungs?
The only thing I can think of to stop airbourne particals is to file in a bowl of water!
Any thoughts on this much appreciated.

Plastic dust doesn't seem to fly very far, but if you're worried about getting small particles in your lungs, try buying some dustmasks from a DIY shop, or a mask with filters that'll keep paint and solvent fumes out too.

Plastic - ehh - not to worried about it. It's heavy and falls and doesn't fill the air.
I do have a large well ventalated workshop to begin with.
Resin is the other side of the story.

ya, hold it up to the light while ur sanding and look, most of the fine dusty plastic doesnt get launched into the air
but just in case sand w/ water when u get to finer grits
