I've been toying around with the idea of doing my own PE. Today I finally got around to trying out my idea and it worked!!!

I'm going to have to play around with a bit more, but it is a major breakthrough for me!!!

Well congratulations! I know how rewarding that can feel.

This week, I figured out how to successfully make my own dry-transfers. I've been wanting to do that for a long time - I'm pretty stoked!

Brian,

Are you going to share this with us???? OR, are you going to keep this a State secret???

Unless it is REALLY easy, I probably won't do it, BUT I'd LOVE to see how it's done...... Dude, Eduard and Aber are making (heheheh, I assume) big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ .

Jim,

Likewise, care to share?? Think....ARCHER?

Guys, I bet there are a lot of folks that would LOVE to know how to do this.

Thank you!

Yeah, sure!

I was thinking of making a article about it. It isn't all that hard, if you have access to the chemicals involved.

Is Radio Shack still around in the States?? I'm sure they would have the positive resist, the developer and the etching bath. Maybe the hardest part would be finding brass thin enough. But I've found everything in Sweden, so I'm sure you should be able to find everything.

Let me get all of my ducks in line and then I'll spill it all out.

Cheers!

Hey Brian I too was successfully in making my own photo etch the last few months back. Radio Shack is still here in the states, thats where I bought my supply from, even the brass sheets. I posted the results somewhere here Looking forward to seeing your way.

Glad there is a rekindling of interest in this! An article would be great-
Think that the PE sets on the market go a little overboard, so making the select parts needed would be good in an easily explained method
Cheers

I've got a few other ducks up my sleeve and in due time, hopefully they will see light as this did!!

Jim, I like the word stoked. Never thought of it that way, but yes I can share your feeling of success!!

For the brass sheets, try a mechanical supplier. I worker for an industrial contractor and scooped a bunch of part sheets ( on their way to the dumpster). Various thicknesses (.005 - .015+). Millwright use ot for "shimming" equipment installations. Hope this helps.
