During WWII, I have yet to see a picture of an RAAF Aircraft that displayed a "Squadron Insigna" Yet I have seen many pictures that said "This is a ___ from _____Squadron. Obviously, that writer knows more that I do and I assume it is a translation of the numbers and letters on the fuselage. Can someone turn me on to a site can show me what numbers and letters went with what squadron????

Like this?

http://www.awm.gov.au/atwar/structure/raaf_codes.htm

Each aircraft will then have an individual identifying letter - helps if have more than one aircraft in the shot so you can work out which letters are the squadron code
