PBS begins a two part series tonight on the French and Indian War, (Seven Years War on the other side of the pond) called The War That Made America. It's supposed to have a lot of reenactors and should be a good one to watch for references to the mid 18th Century.
Here's a link.

Looks pretty interesting, don't spose there's any mention of being shown outside the US.

Vic,

I don't have any idea if will be aired overseas but you can always buy a copy.

These PBS DVDs are usually pretty expensive, though.

What?? You don't already get all of our PBS stuff?? :-)

I've got an entire BBC channel on my cable system over here, so we get TONS of great shows from the UK!!

Bump...

I have it on and if you are looking for something to watch while surfing and modeling this is worthwhile.

Thanks again AJ,

Shaun

Just watch the first installment (2 episodes hosted by Graham Green). It fleshed out a lot of what I've been learning about this historical period form sources such as Last of the Mohicans, Robert Griffing's artwork, Alan Ball's sculpting and others. This may be a CD worth buying, though so far no mention of Rogers' Rangers but imagery reminiscent of what I saw at the Fort at #4 in New Hampshire last summer. Looks like I'll have to do a trip back to Ticonderoga/William Henry in the near future, reminiscent of a family trip from 1968. We stopped at Fort Niagara on a vacation in 2002.
