Well, just under a month to go now and I'll be winging my way down to CT to stay indefinatly (or 3 months, depending on if I get a job or not ). (You might have guessed the Western Cape province thinggy in my location is a tad premature..)

The worst thing is going to be the packing of semi-built kits (like the Aber-filled Tiger 1).

Anyways, I was just wondering.. Here I have a bi-weekly friendly get-together evening where a bunch of us bring along a kit and sit and talk excrement all evening. Now I know the IPMS has a monthly thing, but is there anything like that going on in the CT area?

If not would anyone be up for something like that?

Re. modelling clubs and SIG's in CPT, to the best of my knowledge the IPMS CT branch is the only military modelling club in the Cape Metropol. We (IPMS CT) do however have a small scale SIG as well, which meets at members houses - I'm not sure on the frequency or rotation as I'm not into small scale - and we are planning to set up a 1/35 Armour SIG this year as well (which I will be participating in).

BTW, don't forget to show your great models and participate in the Armorama's general armor forums. There is an absolute wealth of knowledge on this site.

THanks for the warm welcome, Rudi! I did follow your lead over here, as the IPMS forum can be a tad slow. I'm attempting to start networking before I arrive so I don't end up in a complete social vacuum.. Hit the ground running, so to speak.

Tough one. It really depends on the job situation. Could be out by Canal walk or Observatory..

I know it is off-topic, but we have a monthly official IPMS meeting here in the Vaal for the more serious modelling matters......

We also have weekly "Zone" sessions, normally Friday nights, but lately Saturday nights as well as Sunday afternoons when we get together in the "Zone", as my workshop is affectionately called, and stir up some serious modelling as well as shooting the breeze...

This is really the most fun you can have with your clothes on and without female interference. The upside is that we help each other with kit problems, offer solutions, develop skills and in general improve our modelling. It is a blast.
