I was wondering if any of you know of a source for good Zulu/British figures from the Zulu War era? This is another area of interest for me and I would like to find some good figures. I thought that I would ask all of you instead of trying the old buy it and see what you get approach. Thank you for your help.

Available from Historex Agents (UK).

If interested in small scale(54mm),I believe Britains or Conti make them.Even a Rourkes Drift diorama scene.
Viewed them at Michigan Toy Soldiers website.A quick google will get you there as I am not home to furnish a proper url.
cheers!

Many years ago a firm called Sanderson did a vast range of excellent white metal 54mm Zulu War subjects. Older figure modellers may remember the award winning Isandlwana diorama that featured in Military Modelling. It included drummer boys carrying helmets filled with cartridges amongst others. Stadden Miniatures do an 80mm 24th Foot figure which used to come with two positions for the hands, either loading a bullet or at high port. Realmodel (another name from the past) had a large 90 or 100mm figure of a Zulu Induna & Lt Gonville Bromhead.

Still have those two issues of Military Modelling BTW the figures were IIRC sculpted by Cliff Sanderson, but made by Hinchliffe. They were available from Skytrex until relatively recently. I think Vince Wai also does some Zulu War figures too.

Thanks for the responses everyone. It is always good to hear from all of you.
This has been an area of interest for me for years. It all started with watching the movie "Zulu" as a kid. Then I saw "Zulu Dawn" which was another great movie and then finally "Shaka Zulu". I enjoyed all of them.
Thanks again all. HARV
