Hi Guy's
I thought while I had my brother at my house with his digital camera, that
I'd grab him before he left, and at least get him to take a couple of pic's that
I could finally share with everyone. There not the best quality, but this is my
hobby room that I built 2 years ago, and the wood paint rack I made for myself ( which
is mounted to the wall to the left of my main bench. It was alot cheaper and of better quality
to build my own wooden rack to my own specifications, and have room for plenty of various
brands of hobby paint and their various size containers.

I arranged my room & in a " U " shape so I am at the center of it all and everything is stored generally in the open, so it's easily accessible and at "arms reach ". ( I apologize that everything is not more crisply photographed ).
The room is in my basement so I have to use a portable heater in the cold winter month's but heater warms the room well. Unfortuanately, because of limited space, I keep my miniature library of "military reference & historical books " upstairs in my house.
........Any comment's or criticisim are welcome.

Seriously man, thats one nice set up, I like the paint rack, its a nice idea which I might have to copy Why didn't you take a picture of you while you were at it

Screaming,

that's some neat place you've got there. It's quite a ballroom compared with my 1.5 square meters...... #:-) #:-)

That yellow airhose looks dangerous...... If my wife would discover such a thing near my workbench........ i had to run I guess ..

Every time I organize my area, I start to build and paint again and next thing you know, my two desks of work space has been reduced to six square inches of usable space for half a dozen figures and a couple tanks.

Like Anders said ,( lol ) I guess you guy's seen right through that one ......
........yes I did manage to clean up a bit, but on the other hand I really try to
clean up as much as possible when I close up shop for the day and I also
have a very extra large file draw in that desk, that I place whatever it is I'm working
on into it until the next time ( keep's the damn dust off ) I return to work on it.

- Al is also right .... the work space get's reduced pretty quick once we get going.
- Eagle, the good thing is .........that big or small, at least you have your own space.
- Viper, yes I better buy an extra heater when Feb. roll's in ( lol ).

Great layout. However, I wasn't aware you could build a model without 10 empty beer cans and three overflowing ashtrays on the bench. I know that they are a critical component of my work area. You can probably find everything, too. Where is the fun in that?

Nice bench, I'm envious...

Man! I drool........with 4 kids,I have 2 tool boxes and the kitchen table to work on.The pro side of it is,my "workbench is always cleaned at the end of a session.Drwback is that I have to take 10 minutes to clean and set up(with a 2 1/2 year old everything is sticky for some reason).I plan on having my own workbench room but for now,it's constant set-up and break-down.

I am not married, and no kids, but since I live in HK so place is really limited, I got 3 tool boxes, and one coffee table not much bigger than the size of a FAMO with the trailer, but I got to sit in front of my TV and making my models.... #:-)

But this is some nice setup!

Man Screaming Eagle

you have some quite lovely space there. I have been pushed away in a very dusty corner at the attic where also my room is. The only thing is that I have a window in front of me If I didn`t had that I probably had a extreme claustrofobia problem

it`s a really small workbench. No I say it wrong. It used to be a quite big workbench but every time I start building I have to push everything aside to clear one square half a meter to work a little bit ok. The funny thing is that as soon as I sit down behind it I get some kind of inner peace that makes the modelling so funny. Even if I had a really SH@TTY day I completely forget everything that happened to me and with the music of the rolling stones behind me you will capture me regularly loud singing and timeforgetting

Now I think about it some more, I think all the neatness is a hoax, a global conspiracy of the "Neat Modeller Take Over" thingy.

I have a 4' x 8' table. The only woodshop tools on are a toolbox, drill press and vise.
YOU"D THINK I'D HAVE AT LEAST 1SQ FOOT OF CLEAR SPACE!!!!!

Mine isn't much bigger!!!
Screaming i find that the u-shape works real well because you can just swing around and grab what ever you are looking for.

Seems many of us have the same problem, space available is quickly consumed by whatever project(s) we have going on rendering a work space that dwindles to nothing. I think I would like to see two sets of photos from everyone, one with a clean workspace and one with a normal working workspace!!

Andrew - yes it works out well. I wouldn't have it any other way.
Clovis make's a good point about the double photo's. That wide open
space diminishes very quick once we start to roll.
