Ok we all saw the new Dodge Charger this year, and there were mixed thoughts. But when I saw the 08' Challenger I fell off my chair got back up running through the house looking for Maryann and begging her to get this car. She said that if I cut back my monthly modeling spending (did I hear her right

) she said that I my be able to afford it.

That's funny, I just posted something along the same thing on my Mercedes Benz forum. I like it a lot.

For a Dodge, it looked pretty good on tonight's news. But I'll stick with my s2k!

Yeah I was surprised myself to see the old body style. It’s also rumored that Chevy has a Camaro coming out, ummm….hoping something like 67’-70’
Jim the Challenger would probably be V8 only — but also noted that this may depend on whether the Challenger would be made as a mass-market vehicle or a V6 would help it to compete with the cheaper Mustang. There are rumors that the new 392 Hemi crate engine, designed for racing, will go along with the new Dodge Challenger body. The 392 is apparently a racing-only engine in current form, not a production design, but a lower-power version may well be made for production and appear in the Challenger.

Ok I found the new look of the fifth-generation Camaro, and I have to say that I don't like it. I think the designers and executives of General Motors should take note over at Chrysler and Ford. Have a look and see for yourself,

Hey Joe,
I've heard that if they do it as a limited ed. they will put in the 6.4L that is to replace the V10 in the Viper.

Mopar rules.
Man, that is one cool car.
Hope thay will offer some decal/paintschemes similar to those of the 1970 T/A's and R/T's.
A modern Hemi Challenger. That would be so sweet.
Even if I cut down on my monthly modeling expenses, I doubt, the new Challenger will ever be mine. In Denmark we have a 150% registration tax and an additional 25% salestax, so when we by a car, we pay for three. The new Mustang cost's approximately 100K$ The new Challenger will probably cost more than that.
If I sold the wife and kids, then maybe. Hmmm.
A friend of mine is restoring a 1970 Challenger. That is probably the closest I'll get to a Challenger.

I love the Challenger, but I don't care for the wheels, so I'd have to find something a little more retro to roll on.
I liked the Camaro in yellow, but not the green...

The green on the the Camaro is Rallye Green seen on the '68 and '69 models. I think the the Challenger looks cool and totally believe they (Dodge) can make it happen. That would be a nice departure from the Charger which is just plain fugly with it's front end shared by their trucks and it is a sedan to boot - laaaaaaaame. As for the latter metioned Camaro, I think it is a little too late and after GM's SSR and GTO flop - I won't hold my breath.

WOW!
Ya know, I hated the new GTO and the new Charger, but the new Mustang gave me hope in the retro look. This new Challenger though......AWESOME! I love it!
My 2 cents,

Called in my order for one. The guy at the dealership thought I was nuts. We will see who is nuts in 08.LOL. This is a sweet looking ride. I love that the manufactures are getting into the retro look and bringing back some classic designs.

If my modelmaking must suffer so that car is mine, so be IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Once it's mine, back to building again, not like I dont have over 200 plus kits to keep me going for awhile. LOL. Now the wife will be competing with models and the car !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like they say, someone has to lose out. lol.

I'm a Ford guy...always have been always will be. My Dad, wife and I spent many years there, BUT the Challenger concept is dead on! Like the Mustang they captured the essence of the old version. It reminds me of the old days on Woodward Avenue!!!
Pics of the Camaro concept shown at NAIAS (Detroit) look much better that the green machine shown on this thread. I'll post better pics as soon as I can...but it looks "right" too!
Woooohoooo- maybe a revived TransAm Series with REAL ponycars again!!

Found these at
www.ultimatecarpage.com on the North American Auto Show 2006 being held this week.
The 2006 Camero Concept:
And the 2006 Dodge Challanger Concept Car:
Personally I think Chrysler and GM would be foolish not to produce these and give the new Mustang a run for its money.
Speaking of which....here is the new Mustang GT500:
Coupe:
and convertable:
Rumor has it that Ford is going to release a new Mustang every year to celebrate the mustangs of yester year...ie: Mach 1, Boss, etc, etc.
Thanks!
