Way back when I was a Model Railroader (25 or so years ago) and used Floquil RR paints, they were a laquer based paint. In the intervening years, i thought I'd read somewhere the formula has been changed to make them more "plastic friendly", more like an enamel. Testors' web site says they are an enamel paint, but I noticed the thinner is still called Dio-Sol, as it was when I used it before.
Can anyone tell me if this is true?
There are some colors in the RR line I'd like to try out for some special effects and I am wondering if there are still any special precautions I need to follow when painting good ol' styrene.
Thanks!

Can't vouch for the colors, but I use their primer all the time.... still smells the same. I still thin with lacquer thinner.
I know they also make a line of railroad colors that are acrylics....
