I'm trying to do a little survey here to find out if most of the modelers have regular electric shop tools around your house like I do, or am I an exception.

I'm talking about tools like vibrator sanders, belt sanders, hand drills, all of the regular size, almost about every tool for carpentry or auto body, and not the miniature for modeling.

I got a plan for something, if there is a majority that has, that might be able to make some of them useful for modeling, but if I'm the only one like this, then there is no reason.

Beside the normal household/apartment type stuff--- cordless drills, screwdrivers etc, the only other power tool I have is a small bench disc/belt sander.
I have loads of hammers...... why??? because everytime I need a hammer, I can never find one, so end up buying another...... :-) :-)

I use a palm sander (big resin kits). I use a jig saw for cutting bases. I use C clamps, and pincher clamps.

That's about it as far as 'regular' tools go.

Big stuff:
8"Table Saw, 9" Band Saw, 8" Mitre Saw, 10" Drill Press (got got that yesterday-Craftmans w/ laser), Belt Sander, Grinder.

Small stuff:
If they made it I've got one.

Perhaps I should have made woodworking my hobby?

I can’t begin to say what kind of tools I have. I have a wood shop in the basement, and I haven’t been down there in the last 5 years. Lets see…(2) table saws, table miter, hand miter, miter chop saw, floor and bench drill press, dust collector and many many hand tools including some of those laser gadgets.

Now the automotive tools I collected over the 20 years of drag racing. Engine stand, engine puller, tranny stand, degreaser bin, burning outfit, wire feed welder, a few floor jacks and many hand tools including and no BS, a ton of wrenches and sockets.

Since my accident some years back, I have not been able to get into the projects I once did. I just over the last year I finally sold of my drag car

Hey if anyone is looking for anything, just give me a PM. I even have some dragracing stuff left if anyone's interested

Well I do a lot of carpentry and woodwork so I have a collection of tools.

As for mechanical tools my grandfather who lives next door once owned a service station and keep all the tools when they closed. But most of them have broken over the years.

Not really at home but it might as well be since I am in here 6 days a week...

Pattern shop I supervise. Comes in pretty handy.

I was thinking in the line of vibrator sanders, belt sanders, hand tools like these, that could be transformed over to model use, with the right application.

These things haft to be small enough to carry in to the house, to be useful. Far as I know, the only things I can think of, that would be useful, are these 2 things so far, now drills, they already make things for them to be useful, they already make presses to put your small drill in.

Far as I know there isn't any other small tools that they make that would be useful, or at least I don't own any other then these 2 things I've mentioned, does anybody else know of any other useful tool in this line that would be useful, that I forgot.
