I know there a some plastic glues for clear parts (names?) anyway, do they work better than the old elmers white glue?

Hi propboy,
They work the same to me, but I guess it depends on what works best for you.

I used the one that comes in the diamond shaped bottle with the needle like applicator and found it was likely to seriously and deeply craze clear parts.
Not a good thing. Unless you're going to be manhandling your kit, stick with Elmer's style white glue. Dries clear, easy clean up, works like a filer and won't affect the plastic. :-)

I've only used Elmers and it does everything I want. The only thing you have to watch out for with white glue is that it will shrink up some so you have to go back and make sure the gap you fixed is still filled. If not, just add more. Elmers worked wonders on the canopy of the F-14D I'm working on.

When in doubt, stick to Elmer's White Glue.
