Greetings, my friends...
I read this years ago, just saw it again this morning...had to put it up for all and anyone interested.

"Mount up," My Sergeant said, as I don
a .45, a M16, Claymore Mines, ammo
clips, grenades to share in a firefight
along with my Unit One,
bandages and plasma too,
for saving lives is what I am trained to do.

As a Marine Corpsman:
I share the good and bad each and every day,
at night I stand my watch doing sitreps as called for.
I console them after a Dear John they receive,
I discuss with them why they are here.
I treat their cuts and colds,
I supply their whiskey and beer.

I hear them cry for dead friends
alive just a minute ago.
I am their Minister, Priest, Psychiatrist
surrogate Mother and Doctor.
The one they talk to.
I know their hopes and dreams for the future,
I tell them it is not true when they say they
are not coming back alive,
I give them their pills and keep the water pure
and make sure they keep the latrine clean.

Their Parents, Families, Officers and Sergeants
all think they are theirs, but in combat they are
My Marines. From Generals to privates
I care for them, love them and help them to fight
another day.
We share Courage, Fear, Pride, Fervor, Honesty
and Espirit De Corps.

We are dedicated to mayhem, destruction, and destroyers
of our enemies and their will to fight.
Protecting one another and never leaving anyone behind,
brothers to one another and the Corps.
"Corpsman Up," I must answer the call
as I have dedicated myself to do
But,
I CANNOT BE THEIR FRIEND.
for it would destroy me to lose them.

For all the courageous Marines past and present.
Keep up the good fight
for Freedom is worth fighting for.
